Hey, Folks!

Just coming off another exciting week in my personal life and trying to get caught up on a bunch of end of the month stuff. I mean, this will be the last round of “End of the Month” stuff until I get back from my long awaited Bahamian vacation and let me tell you I can’t wait. There’s something about paying off a $10,000+ vacation that makes you want TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW..lol.

So last week, my Beloved Fiancee, Hillman, contracted a mild case of Covid. I will admit that I was a little relieved as I had it the week before and I felt like it was a good thing that I didn’t have to worry about a last minute Covid infection stomping all over our vacation plans. Unfortunately, Fate arrived to give us a kick in the ass anyway. Poor Hillman was getting out of bed at this place when he was overcome with dizziness and passed out on his feet. He ended up face planting on the floor of his bedroom fracturing the bottom of his orbital socket and causing to small brain bleeds. This was a concern as he is blood thinners due to his heart condition and it ended up with a stay in the hospital for a couple of nights. I want to stress that Hillman is fine at this point. As I mentioned, Hillman’s Covid infection was minor and while he is currently dealing with some discomfort and one heck of a black eye he will make a full recovery. We are hoping that the black eye is healed up before we go on vacation if for no other reason then so he doesn’t have to explain it the entire time we are at the resort.

Brian and I are currently working together to ensure that there is no loss of service while I am sashaying around the beach in a mumu and a floppy hat. It is a little tricky as there are a lot of moving parts to constructing and posting the weekly shipping and subscription lists, but I’m confident that Brian will handle it. If he doesn’t I will do everything to fix it once I’m back in the office. Maybe it’s just my imagination, but I suspect Brian may be planning some kind of frakakta sale while I am out of the country. Keep your eyes open for possibly more information on that next week.

Okily dokily…time for me to get all this lousy paperwork caught up. After I get all of this stuff posted I’ve got to upload Diamond’s monthly orders, do FOC for Penguin and Lunar, and then process the first 80 or so orders from the sub form. Have a great weekend and hope to see everyone at least once or twice more before I take off to the clear, blue waters of Emerald Bay!

Hey, Folks!

Just a quick note today as I am trying to get everything up and posted ASAP so that I can be ready to pick up Hill from the hospital. Yes, I said, “hospital”. There in lies a bit of a tale, but satiate everyone’s ravenous curiosity and to assuage the fears of Hillman’s surprisingly large fan base I will igve you the highlights. Basically, Hillman contracted Covid as of Monday night. He went home in order to begin the process of recovery. Unfortunately on Tuesday Hill got a case of the “Covid Dizzies” and fell at home and face planted in his bedroom. This ended up with him fracturing his cheek bone and causing a minor brain bleed. Once we got him to the hospital and they were able to look under the hood it turned out he is basically okay. He just completed another CT scan this morning to check on the brain bleed and we are waiting for the results. Otherwise he currently has no covid symptoms and his face should be fine once the swelling goes down. Hopefully, the brain bleed hasn’t gotten any worse and he will be discharged toot sweet!

Anyway, I will be in and out of the store for the next couple of days while I am taking care of Hillman, but I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Cya soon!

Hey, Folks!

Well, after last week’s irritating brush with Covid I am officially back in the store. Just to clear up the time line for my unfortunate infection, it was Tuesday evening when I first began to realize the problem. I had worked an 11 hour day on Tuesday and was rushing to get all of my paperwork and general duties completed before Hillman and I took off to Chicago for the weekend and when I got home I did indeed feel pretty worn out. At that point I just assumed that it was all of the hours I had been putting into the store. By 10pm, however, I realized that I was feeling pretty out of it. I took my temperature and it was a whopping 102 degrees and realized what was really happening. I did a at-home covid test and it came back negative, but by the time I woke up even sicker on Wednesday morning I finally registered as infected.

Luckily, the three people I am closest to on a daily basis, Brian, Hill, and my roommate David did NOT get infected by my diseased ass. It was an interminable 5 day wait for this damn virus to burn itself out. And even though the symptoms cleared up quickly enough I am still dealing with the fatigue connected to the illness. So if you see me drooping behind the counter it only the after effects of covid. I am still wearing a mask in the store (or anywhere in public) at this point, but I should be in the clear for no more masks by this weekend.

Anyway, that’s my big stupid covid story. Glad that no one else close to me got it, especially Brian, and glad that it didn’t crap all over the big Bahamas vacation that Hill and I are going on next month. Hopefully we will stay in the clear until after that event.

Have a great weekend, Folks, and I will talks at ya soon!

Hey, Folks!
It is still COVID week here at Monarch Comics! I have Covid and won’t be back until next week. Brian is doing his best to keep up without getting sick himself! Exciting!
My Covid symptoms are pretty mild. I had a fever for 36 hours and now I have a sore throat and am feeling a little queasy, but basically okay.
Here’s the List and the Form. Have at it and hope to see everyone next week!
